Yarrow Residence

This project started as a single storey rancher and ended up as a full second storey addition. Upstairs, we added a full master suite with a walk in closet and ensuite, two more bedrooms, and a rec room. Downstairs, the original main floor bedrooms were redesigned into an office and craft room.

Outside, we leaned into a craftsman look with dark green lap siding, white trim, and brick accents at the base and porch columns. The covered front porch directs the entry, and also connects the new upper floor back down to a more human scale at street level. Window boxes and a metal roof over the porch add a bit of texture without overcomplicating the palette.

It's a good example of how much can change on a lot without touching the footprint. The bones of the original rancher are still there, they're just carrying a lot more house now.
